Hello! I’m Isabelle!

A bit about me! I was born and raised in Manhattan, but I now call Astoria, Queens my home. I love reading, karaoke, trivia, spas, and deep conversations. I hate loud noises, polite small talk, light touch, and oranges. I have 2 budgies, Gwen and Luna, who love squawking, attacking their chew toys, and destroying a sprig of millet.

Hello! Welcome to the Nourished Roots Nutrition blog! My name is Isabelle, and I am the owner of Nourished Roots Nutrition LLC, a practice where we help folks explore and improve their relationship to food, movement and body image.

I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in Manhattan, but I now call Queens my home. I have 2 budgies, Gwen and Luna, who love squawking, attacking their chew toys, and destroying a sprig of millet. I am a parent to an amazing toddler who continues to surprise me every day with her curiosity and goofiness. I love singing, trivia (I am terrible, but absolutely love it), spending quality time with my loved ones, and, when I have time, getting into my body through both stillness and movement.

Professionally, I am a registered dietitian and I enjoy working with folks who are looking for a better way to relate to and care for their body that centers around respect and freedom. I specialize in eating disorders, ending the dieting cycle, and feeding yourself as a neurodivergent human.

Now that I’ve introduced myself, here is a sense of what to look forward to with this blog!

I wanted to have a space to express thoughts, provide interesting resources, and connect more with folks; I m excited to have this space to try to do all that!

Some of the topics of exploration will be:

  • Eating disorders

  • Neurodivergence and nutrition

  • Food and executive function

  • Anti-fatness

  • Body liberation

  • Food and trauma

  • General themes and realizations that arise in my wor

I also hope to link to other amazing resources as I come across them.

I’m really excited to have you here! If you ever have any thoughts or questions for me, feel free to reach out to nourishedrootsnutritionllc@gmail.com.
